Annaliese has gone from a sweet little girl that will lay there and allow you to do whatever needs to be done to an increasingly active one year old that refuses to lay still for a diaper change! I swear each time we walk into her room to change her diaper it is like someone dimmed the lights, cut on the music and rang the bell to start the match!
I honestly hear “Let’s get ready to RUUUMMMMBBBLLLLEEEE!!” in my head every single time!
Generally by the time my wonderfully adorable wiggle worm of a child allows me to get her diaper off…keeping her “pinned” for the count to get that new one on just doesn’t come easy. If I am being honest…I generally end up losing the match to a 19lb baby!!
Seriously! There has got to be a better way…right?!?

Needless to say, I was intrigued! I did some research and decided that this was definitely something I wanted to be a part of and give a try! We have been using Huggies diapers for a while now and I totally swear by their Night Time diapers! Let’s just say that I went from having to change the bedding in the crib every morning to a normal once a week because of these night time diapers!
However, I tried not to let myself get too excited…I mean what if it didn’t work? What if they leak? What if the fit isn’t right? Oh so many what ifs….
Well, they are obviously a diaper that slips on hehe but what does that mean? How does it work?
First off, let me point out that THESE ARE NOT PULL-UPS and are not intended for potty training purposes.
Huggies Little Movers have elastic panels and tabs that come pre-fastened. This makes for a super quick and easy diaper change. You literally just slip them on and go! Anna has a bad habit of un-doing her diapers within oh say five seconds of me putting her down! With the Huggies Little Movers Slip-Ons she can’t do it! She has yet to manage to get out of this diaper!
While the pre-fastened sides seem to hold up amazingly well while Anna is wearing them, they are extremely easy to open and re-fasten if needed! They even roll up like a traditional diaper for easy and clean disposal!

One of my biggest worries with this diaper was the fit.
We all know that choosing the right size is imperative! Too tight and it’s not comfy….too loose and they sag, leak…and come off!
Luckily I was able to get two sizes of these diapers to give a try. I went with size 4 (which she usually wears) and 5 due to Anna’s itty bitty weight of 19lbs and thick thighs 🙂
Unlike a traditional diaper, which has panels that you can loosen and tighten as you put the diaper on, these stretch to fit. I honestly should have gone a size down to make the diapers fit as they needed to. However, the size 4 was manageable. Even with the semi-loose fit she has yet to leak out! Yay for diapers!
Speaking of leaking out…how good is the Huggies Little Movers Slip-Ons diaper in leak protection?
According to the pbox the diapers have “trusted Leak Lock® Protection. The diaper absorbs-away layers and long-lasting core lock in wetness and keep baby dry.”
This sounds great and all…but we moms just want to know…DOES IT WORK?!?
Well, in Anna’s case…yes it does! So far she has not leaked out even once! Trust me…this child has had some pretty massive diaper explosions in these diapers and not a single bit has come out!
However, a friend of mine has a little boy the exact age as Anna (only 2 days younger!) and he has major issues with these diapers! She says that he leaks out rather quickly when wearing these. Not sure what the difference is in a boy and a girl wearing these Huggies Slip-Ons but apparently there is one. However, she also swears by the Huggies Night Time diapers like I do 🙂 Hint Hint…if you haven’t tried these I highly recommend that you do!
Either way, boy or girl…these diapers are so not a over night diaper! They do not hold as much as a traditional diaper and will leak out all over the place if your kid goes over night!
What about the diapering process?
Honestly, I feel that this will change from kid to kid. For me, changing Anna with a traditional diaper is like Wrestle Mania has taken up space in her bedroom. We are constantly moving, rolling, laying down, pinning, heck there are even a few slaps and kicks thrown my way from her!
With these slip-ons I simply let her sit up like she wants to, slide her feet in, stand her up and pull up the diaper like a pair of underwear! It is totally easier than a traditional diaper for us.
My friend on the other hand, has more issues with her son and getting him into them. Honestly, even with him moving it is just easier to put a traditional diaper on him than a pull up.
Taking them off works just like a traditional diaper and once you get the hang of the tabs being a little bit more on the side than the front it is totally easy-peasy!
Next question every mom wants to know…Are they expensive?
Well…sort of but not really. It depends on what you are used to purchasing. Huggies Little Movers Slip-Ons are a little more expensive than a store brand diaper (if you are looking for a good one of those I suggest Target Brand) but not really much of a difference in them and a traditional Huggies Diaper.
Also, if you think about the fact that it seems you may be able to go down a size then you will probably get a few more diapers in the box. Not sure about you guys but I hate that diapers get more expensive the larger size you go! Ugh lol
Overall, I would totally recommend giving these diapers a shot! It may not work for every child, but if it does work for you it is totally worth it!
