Garnier Nutrisse Hair Color

How many times have you gone to the store to get one or two things and end up spending half an hour standing in front of one section staring endlessly at the exact same thing? I mean really do we need to have twelve different types of the same product?!?
How do we decide which one to use? They all claim to be the best…but who knows right?

Well this was me yesterday at the store. I stood in front of the hair dye loosing my mind trying to decide which brand, which exact color, which style I was supposed to get.
There are just way too many options to choose from!
So, here I was trying to decide which brand to go with when I realized that I am not alone! Many, many other women do the same thing! I thought I would review the product I got and let you guys know how it went so that maybe I can save you a little bit of time!
I decided to go with Garnier Nutrisse because it is a brand that I use hair products from on a regular basis. (I may do a quick review of hair products sometime as well)
I get home, get the kids in bed (because we all know how well it would have worked had I tried before they were in bed), pull out the instructions and set to work!
Like most of you probably are when you do ANYTHING like this at home, I cross my fingers and pray I don’t completely ruin my hair!
Step one was easy enough. Mix all the ingredients into one tube, I totally got this!
Opps! I skipped a step! haha I already messed up! PUT ON GLOVES!!
Step two (or is it three since I missed one?): While wearing the gloves put the mixture onto your hair in 1/4 inch sections. Start with your roots or the darkest part of your hair. Then work it into your entire head. Don’t massage it into your scalp or anything…it may start to burn if you do!

OH MY GOSH! The smell!! My eyes are watering…okay top secret tip to dying your hair…DON’T DO IT IN THE BATHROOM WITH THE DOOR CLOSED!! Cut on a fan to pull the air out or something!
Step three: Look like an idiot while you sit around your house trying not to touch anything and making faces at the smell. Leave the mixture on your hair for 20-30 minutes according to what you’re looking for.

This is the point where most of us are crossing our fingers, praying like crazy, and hoping against hope that when you start to rinse your hair NONE OF IT FALLS OUT!

Step four: Find a sink or tub or shower that you can easily lean over and not make a mess…well as much of a mess! Add a little bit of water to your “beautiful” hair and lather it up! Rinse with warm water until the water runs clear. (Can be hard to tell with the lighter colors.)
Take a HUGE sigh of relief because you have all of your hair and it doesn’t look any strange color yet!

Step five: Put in the conditioner packet and wait for two minutes. Rinse your hair well then style as usual!
So now for the review part:
After using this product my hair looks and feels pretty awesome! You would think that dying your hair a lighter color would dry it out or fry it. However, this product does a really great and gentle job.
Honestly, my hair feels healthier than it did before I used it! I think this has something to do with the oils that they put into it. It seems to condition your hair as it colors it!

Compared to some of the other products I have used in the past:

-The smell isn’t really that bad.
-The color is pretty dang close to what I was going for. (My hair turns red no matter what color I dye it!)
-I can tell I did something! There have been a few times where I dyed my hair and then literally couldn’t
tell a difference.
-My hair feels soft and healthy instead of feeling dry and brittle afterwards.
-It was the second to cheapest, only $7, box of dye in the store, but works better than the last $20 box I
bought.
-The conditioner that you use at the end smells AMAZING!
